Just hours away from EPISODE 3!

I've been informed by my editor that she is in the final stages of editing Into the Void, Episode 3 of the Pax Humana Saga. We go back and forth a lot during editing: she'll call or email me with a question to clarify something I've written, and she'll just fix it based on my answer, such that when I get the edited manuscript back there's not much left for me to do beyond upload to the retailers, upload the cover, and click publish. Have I showed you the cover yet? I didn't? Well here it is:

As always, mailing list subscribers get a special deal on the new release. Most of my books will be $4.99 (waaaaaaay cheaper than most books you'll find in a bookstore), but for the first 2 days after release it'll be $2.99, and basically only mailing list subscribers get to know about it. So sign up now!
You'll also get all my short stories for free--I'll point you to a secret page on this website where you can download them all--there's currently 4, but I add to them throughout the year.

This book was fun to write. I took little longer on this one than I did with The Terran Gambit and Chains of Destiny, mainly because I needed a little break from writing the same characters. So I took some time off to write Initiate, and work on some other writing projects, and when I came back to writing Into the Void I was fresh and ready to go. There's motorcycle chases, more space battles than you can shake a phaser at, gunfights, fistfights, verbal sparring--yeah, lots of conflict. And I finally get to reveal certain things about certain characters, which I'll build more on in the coming books. Let's just say not everyone in The Pax Humana Saga is who they seem to be. That's why I love military space opera--it's an excuse to let your tech imagination run wild, and still bring it back to humans caught in an intergalactic drama. Very fun stuff.

What else is new? The Initiate series is coming along nicely. It's a new novel I'm writing about an assassin nun in space, but I've decided to split it up into 4 parts and publish them every month or so. The first episode is exclusively in the Stars and Empire multi-author boxset, which is currently rocketing up the charts at amazon!

Let's see, what else am I up to....
I'm writing a super secret Space SciFi book involving Nasa, the orion, mariner, pioneer, and voyager spacecraft, aliens, ships, UFOs, conspiracies, and lots of action-y goodness. Stay tuned--I don't know if I'll announce it here since I might publish it under a new name, so sign up for that mailing list if you want to get an announcement when it's published.

Ok, you ask, what's the deal? Why am I so actively pushing people to my mailing list? The answer is simple--it's really hard to get visibility on Amazon (or any other retailers) these days. If a book does not perform well during it's first month, chances are the internal algorithms at Amazon will decide it's not worth promoting to its customers. So I need to make as many sales during that first month as humanly possible to encourage Amazon's algorithms to do just that: promote the book to its other customers. I hate spam with as much of a fiery passion as you do, so I promise not to send you email after email after email. I only use it to announce a new release. Honestly, I think I've sent 4 this whole year. And I never give out your email address to anyone. So what are you waiting for? Free stuff!

New Novel: INITIATE

Now on Amazon, another multi-author boxset: Stars and Empire 2!

For this one I wrote an entirely new story, INITIATE, which is the first book of a 4 part novel about an assassin nun in space. It's a little different than my military space opera stuff, but I hope you like it!

Also, Into The Void, book 3 of the Pax Humana Saga is DONE, and with the editor. I think it'll release either this weekend or early next week! Stay tuned....

I'm a USA Today Bestselling author!

Sorry, just had to tell someone.

Behold:

In case you're not following the writing industry, this is a big deal. In the past two years there has only been 1 other indie SciFi author to hit the USAT bestseller list. That was Hugh Howey. My co-authors and I are happy to be in such good company :)

But most of all, thank you, readers, for taking a chance on an unknown author! At the end of the day, all that matters is the experience of my readers. Thanks for your support!

Chains of Destiny, Episode #2 of the Pax Humana Saga is now available!

Late last night, I clicked publish on the next installment of the Pax Humana Saga.

I started writing this book back in November, and I was tweaking it right up until the end. My editor said (shaking her fist) that she was hooked. I hope you like it just as much.

I Publish!

How did this happen? I go and publish a book, and I forgot to update my website. What kind of a web/media guru am I, anyway? A poor one, that's what kind. In the words of a friend, I specialize in anti-social media. (H/T: Robert Crane. Go read his books)

And so with that, I guess I should say something a little more substantial than just, "Uh, hey guys, here's my book!"

How about, "I'm a little stunned, but in the 3 weeks my book has been published, nearly 2000 people have bought it"?

Yeah, I was surprised too. People seem to be liking this story. At least, no one is sending me hate mail over it. Yet. Even better, a whole lot of people are signing up for the mailing list to be notified when book 2 comes out, which I assume means they liked book 1, right? That's what I'm going with.

Speaking of which, have you signed up for the mailing list? You should. I'll send you free stories. And love.

So here's to 2000 more sales. Probably not in 3 more weeks, but one can always hope.

If you haven't bought it yet, and would like to, here are the links:

Amazon: smarturl.it/TerranGambitAMZ
Barnes & Noble: smarturl.it/TerranGambitBN
Google Play: smarturl.it/TerranGambitGP
Apple iBooks: smarturl.it/TerranGambitAPL

Reviews are appreciated! Without reviews, my books sink into the festering pit of millions of unloved ebooks at the retailer sites, never to be seen by human eyes again.

Looking for ARC reviewers for a Space Opera book!

On March 20th, 2014, I will release The Terran Gambit, Book 1 of The PAX HUMANA series. In anticipation of release, I am looking for brave, intrepid souls who want to be advanced reviewers. If you do, email me at authorendiwebb@gmail.com and I will send you an ARC (advance review copy).
Here is the book description:

The Corsican Empire, or New Rome, as it styles itself, extends the reach of the "Pax Humana" across the thousand worlds, ruling with force and fear. 40 years ago, they returned to Earth, subjugating it and claiming the ancient home of humanity for the Empire.

Now, in 2675, Earth fights back.

Lieutenant Jacob Mercer likes fast motorcycles, faster women, and screamin' fighters. As a reckless space jock in the Resistance fleet he lives for the thrill, and to take out as many Imperial bogeys as he can. At least, more than his buddies.

But with victory in sight, the Imperials thwart the Resistance in a surprise show of devastating force, and Dallas burns from a thermonuclear blast—millions die—a merciless example of what happens to upstart worlds in the Pax Humana.

The Resistance goes underground to rebuild its strength, and in the shadows, the leadership devises a daring plan to strike right at the Empire's heart in a final, desperate bid for freedom.

A plan that will send Jake Mercer right to where he doesn't belong: The captain's chair of the most advanced warship in the galaxy, facing down a psychopathic Imperial Admiral bent on utterly destroying the Resistance, and Earth itself.
